Prepare for unexpected situations and be ready to take action in the event of an emergency. Become a rescue diver and be a real hero for yourself and other divers!
The Diver Stress and Rescue course will elevate your diving skills, making your dives safer. Upon completion, you will be able to detect and manage various issues. You will learn to recognize potential stress factors and respond to them effectively.
This course will make you one of the most experienced divers in your group, second only to divemasters. Your skills will be invaluable during rescue operations, and the entire diving community will appreciate your commitment to enhancing safety.
Throughout the course, you will build your confidence by practicing repeated scenarios, such as:
To enroll in the Diver Stress and Rescue course, you need current training in first aid and oxygen administration. If you don’t have these certifications, you can take the SSI React Right course, where you’ll learn these essential techniques. This course is included in the price of the Diver Stress and Rescue course, so if you don’t have it, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered!
During the Diver Stress and Rescue course, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of stress, including its causes, who is most susceptible to it, and the critical role of the psycho-respiratory cycle in influencing a diver’s actions. You’ll learn to identify signs of stress in both yourself and other divers, as well as master techniques for managing stress effectively before, during, and after a dive.
The course also covers accident management, including how to plan and conduct searches for missing divers. You’ll learn to identify injuries related to compressed gas and provide immediate care for both conscious and unconscious victims, equipping you with the skills to handle emergencies confidently.
This course will prepare you for unexpected underwater situations that may occur to you or other divers in your group. You’ll learn self-aid techniques such as managing cramps, swimming without a mask, removing and replacing dive gear underwater, and performing emergency ascents.
As a rescue diver, you’ll be equipped to respond to many of your buddy’s challenges, including assisting a tired or panicked diver, performing a gas-sharing ascent, searching for a missing diver, and handling an unconscious diver safely. You’ll also enhance your compass navigation skills and learn various search patterns to effectively carry out a missing diver procedure in any environment.
You will enhance your scuba equipment assembly skills, ensuring you can prepare for a rescue quickly, efficiently, and without errors—because as the rescuer, you need to stay in control, not become the one needing assistance.
You will learn how to plan a rescue dive using tools like a compass, dive map, and other rescue aids. Additionally, you’ll master the use of a rescue flowchart as a guideline for emergency procedures, while refining your skills in oxygen administration and conducting a neurological examination.
Experience comes from practicing various scenarios, and this course is designed to prepare you for them. Once you’ve mastered the necessary skills, you’ll put them to the test in realistic situations. Throughout the course, we’ll simulate several common diving accident scenarios to ensure you’re equipped to handle them confidently. You’ll take on different roles, including injured diver, observer, and rescuer, to gain a well-rounded perspective and be ready for real-life situations.
To enhance your learning, we’ll record parts of your training dives and review them together. Seeing yourself in action, combined with constructive feedback, will help you improve more effectively and build your confidence.
Completing the course gives you a lifetime certificate confirming your rescue training. It is one of the requirements for professional and technical courses.

Diver Stress and Rescue is one of the most valuable diving courses and we believe that every diver should complete this training for their own safety. Stress comes from lack of experience, so during the course you will repeat self-help and buddy-help skills many times to feel confident and be useful in emergency situations.
This course requires specific skills and will be completed when you are ready. Your commitment, progress, and availability will determine the timeline.
Some divers can finish the course in two days, but we recommend extending it to three – four days. This allows more time for practice and rest, as it is a demanding course that requires your full concentration and effort.
I have trained several hundred divers, thanks to which I gained extensive teaching experience. Many of my students come back, and some of them never left - today they are active dive professionals.
I am a demanding instructor with attention to detail for whom the work is not finished until the student achieves a satisfactory result. Learn the art of diving at the highest level with an instructor passionate about this.
Many years of volunteering have helped me understand the value of supporting other people and the need to be understanding for others.
Let me be your underwater Angel :).
I always put safety above everything else and with my lifeguard experience you will be in good hands.
When safety is ensured - then we can have fun!
